ABOUT THIS COLLECTION
Preserving Cheadle’s photographic heritage since 2015
Established in 2015 by Cheadle Civic Society, Cheadlephotos.net was Cheadle’s first digital photographic archive, created to preserve and share the rich visual history of the village.
Over the following decade, the website developed into an extensive collection of more than 800 historical photographs, documenting the people, streets, buildings and everyday life of Cheadle, Cheshire.
In 2026, the committee of Cheadle Civic Society took the decision to integrate this important collection into the Cheadle Heritage Archive, ensuring that its photographs and historical records could be preserved, maintained and made accessible to future generations.
Today, the Cheadle Photos Collection retains its own identity within the wider archive, recognising its pioneering contribution to the digital preservation of Cheadle’s local history.
