ABOUT THIS COLLECTION

Educating generations of Cheadle children since 1909

Since opening its doors in 1909, Cheadle Village Primary School has played an important role in the life of the village, educating generations of local children and creating memories that have lasted a lifetime.

Purpose-built in the heart of Cheadle, the school has remained a familiar and much-loved part of the community for over a century. For countless former pupils, its classrooms, playgrounds and corridors hold fond memories of childhood friendships, favourite teachers and the experiences that helped shape their early lives.

This collection brings together historical photographs, school records and memorabilia preserved by the school, alongside contributions generously shared by former pupils and members of the local community.

Through class photographs, school events, personal recollections and historical documents, the collection offers a fascinating glimpse into the changing lives of Cheadle’s children and the school that has served them for generations.

More than a century after welcoming its first pupils, Cheadle Village Primary School continues to be an important part of village life. This collection celebrates its remarkable history, the generations who have passed through its doors and its enduring place in the heart of Cheadle.
